Eyeport Sdn Bhd has chalked up a milestone with its Trendy County automated stores officially launched in the KL International Airport (KLIA) in conjunction with the airport’s 18th anniversary celebrations.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali has graciously launched Trendy County automated stores in an event kicking off the celebrations on June 29.

“Trendy County is proud to be a part of the retail family in KLIA. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to add colour and variety and inject an element of fun to the shopping experience in KLIA. We see a huge potential in the retail landscape here and we hope to bring this experience to KLIA2 in the near future,” said Eyeport Sdn Bhd chairman YM Tunku Kamil Ikram Tunku Tan Sri Abdullah.
"Enhancing total airport experience (TAE) is one of four strategic priorities in our five-year Runway to Success 2020 (RtS2020) business plan. This total airport experience includes creating joyful experiences for airport users in an innovative and digitised environment. Trendy County's unique and innovative product offerings are in line with these aspirations," said Badlisham.

He added that although the RtS2020 initiative was spearheaded by Malaysia Airports, he was confident that the strong collaboration and relationship among the airport community would be a key determinant to KLIA’s success in creating joyful experiences and becoming one of the best airports in the world. KLIA was voted World’s 10th Best Airport for Transit Passengers in SkyTrax 2016.

Products available from the automated stores are smartphone accessories such as charging cables, power banks, surge protectors, USB flash drives, batteries, earphones, laser keyboards, action cameras and wireless chargers, beauty and fashion items such as sunglasses and contact lenses and even Lego or Barbie figurines for the young travellers. Prices of the products sold range from RM10 to RM299.
